Sometimes with our busy lives we need a nudge! John was out of town Thursday, so I took the kids to dinner. And I do treasure the handmade valentines for me, but I've kind of given up on homemade ones for the kids to give out - only if they want to make them, because the kids don't care. Candy is king.Ann in NJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08867456693546188505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5242228549901478168.post-6911415843832527852008-02-15T09:08:00.000-08:002008-02-15T09:08:00.000-08:00We kept it simple as well. SO we had some cookies that were on sale (and some donuts) and we bought some inexpensive chocolates because we have a Curious George book about going to a chocolate factory. I told Jim that if I had been buying chocolates for him I would have bought better quality stuff. The kids also made cards for our baby-sitter and that was it. Of course we ended up eating the entire box of chocolates in one sitting (16 pieces) and then Doug promptly threw-up from stuffing his face with chocolates. So I guess my Valentine's Day was complete.Susan Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13854814816883479745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5242228549901478168.post-78101513675952617802008-02-14T22:16:00.000-08:002008-02-14T22:16:00.000-08:00LoL we're going out later as well. Well, the not cooking sounds nice, but instead I'm going to treat myself out to lunch tomorrow and then John and I will go out somewhere maybe on Sat.<BR/><BR/>So, maybe as we get older we get more practical about it, but Valentine's day was never a big day in my book. Just an excuse to do something different I suppose.Lisa Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05943069442131689732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5242228549901478168.post-77688051714809625802008-02-13T21:22:00.000-08:002008-02-13T21:22:00.000-08:00And real romance would be M taking the kids and gi...And real romance would be M taking the kids and giving you the opportunity to take a bath in peace and to go to bed early and not get awakened until I want to the next morning. <BR/>VD turned into a fun craft project for the kids this year. Steve asked me "What do you want for Valentine's day?" To which I responded, "Oh, yeah, Valentine's Day is supposed to be about us people in love, isn't it? Hmmm, whatever..."<BR/>We're going to try to get out to dinner on some other weeknight, as well.Jill in MAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16013922340752215086noreply@blogger.com
